Our first Youth Disc Golf morning on August 1 went down so well that the verdict from the field was unanimous: more please. See how round one went →
Disc golf is like golf with flying discs, walk the field, aim for the chain basket, and count your throws. It's easy to pick up, gets kids running around outside, and it's a blast. Alberta Youth Disc Golf is on a mission to develop tomorrow's disc golfers, and their trained summer coaches are bringing a portable basket and a few hundred discs right to our park.
Two one-hour evening sessions, a mix of simple teaching and games. This round is open to ages 6 to 12, so older siblings can join too. No experience and no equipment needed, and you don't have to be an SHCA member. Just pick a session below and reserve a spot for your kid.
Free · first-come, first-served · one form per family (add each child below).
Nope. It's free and open to everyone, and it's built for complete beginners. The coaches teach the basics through games.
Absolutely. Repeat throwers are welcome, and the coaches will push them a bit further this time.
Up to 16 per session so everyone gets coaching and throws. Once a session fills, its button will show "Full", grab the other one.
Yes, please. Parents/guardians stay at the park and are responsible for supervising their own kids. It's a great chance to watch them learn a new sport (and maybe try a throw yourself).
Yes. Mid-August the sun doesn't set in Calgary until around 8:45 PM, so even the 7 PM group finishes with plenty of light.
Light weather, we play. If it's unsafe, we'll email everyone who registered about a postponement, so keep an eye on your inbox.
